I did not know this until I was talking to some interested passers-by at SHOT and I said they were hammer forged.

I didn't want a basic Springfield and wanted a forged reciever, completely unaware that LRB was a thing at that time. I knew of Fulton, Springfield, Bula, Norinco, and James River.Saw or shear cuts didn't cut it anymore. as such, a bunch of places were raided under GW early 2000s. ATF targeted MKS. not so much Hahn who started welding up M14s and AR10s in the 80s and had a bureau letter.
