Chevy silverado radio volume not working.

Over the last few months when I first turn on my truck my radio volume shoots up to the max volume. I have to continuously turn the volume knob down to keep it from being so loud for about 2 minutes before I'm actually able to control the volume. Nope. That 'tiny speaker' above your head is the interior air temperature sensor for the HVAC system. The door chime plays thru the stereo system. To help confirm that the radio C1 and C220 connectors are reversed, remove the 30 amp "Radio Amp" fuse from the UBEC.
