My experience with my 1988 and my 2002 Kawasaki Voyager Xll has been excellent. I had the 1988 front end rebuilt at about 65,000 miles. I seem to have more problems getting the plastic for the bike than the mechanical parts. Before purchasing a 2009 Voyager, I went to the Kawasaki website and to three dealers trying to find out the gas mileage. I had read reviews that gave the mileage as 35-36 MPG. Not many 750 pound bikes can provide 55 mpg when touring at 120 k/ph. Significant storage is also a pleasure.

The stock OEM oil filter on all the 1700 engines 2009 - 2015 is the same as my 1500 Classic and the 900 Classic (pic below).
