On the outside end of the cutter bar is a spring loaded rod bent around to make two rods that "rakes" the hay back towards the tractor so the end of the cutter bar closest to the tractor doesn"t clog up on the next pass.The bar pulling on the side of the mower would tend to pull the mower sideways but would still exert a straight pull back on the tractor. When I first made my Mini 560 I wanted a piece of equipment that would be representative of the age of the tractor.
