All of the "guts" of the frame are one contained group and that's what's the "firearm" with a serial number, and they call the exterior frame a "grip module." Aluminum is 2.5x less dense than steel after all. Either way, the P365XL platform (slide) accepts compensators that cover the RSA much better than the standard P365 / P365X platform simply because of the way the recoil assembly is designed. If you do go with a comp, I highly recommend getting the DPM recoil kit, if you have an XL like in your case.

Nov 8, 2022 · The end of the slide is modified to include a dual-port compensator. Unlike the 3.7-inch barrel of the SIG P365 XL, the SIG P365 XMACRO uses a 3.1-inch barrel. The rest of the slide length is taken up with the compensator. A compensator bleeds gas off from the muzzle and redirects this gas upward, resulting in lessened felt recoil.

There was a thread a while back which teased a photo which was stated as being taken at Sig and showing some upcoming P365 models. The non comp version seen here was among them. There was also what appeared to be a long slide Macro. I’d guess 4-4.25” barrel. The pull on my X Macro is lighter, but the take up is too long, with far too much creep, a bit of overtravel, and a break that is simply intolerable in anything but a pocket pistol. To me, the Sig P365 X Macro Comp would be about the best gun of its size IF it were not for having a very limiting pocket pistol trigger.

As for the trigger weight, my 43X feels like 8lbs. Its heavy and uncomfortable. Wife refuses to shoot it any more. My 365xl is definitely lighter and smoother.So I made it to the range today to test the various combinations of springs and plugs. For reference purposes here are the four springs and two plugs.
