Jul 19, 2009 · The T/C Hawken is a 1 in 48" twist. This is a compromise between a slower round ball twist (1 in 66" to 1 in 72") and a conical twist (1 in 24" to 1 in 32" twist). In reality, it's not great for either. Some T/C Hawkens shoot round balls well and some shoot conicals and sabots well, rarely do you find one that shoots both well. Having fooled with a bunch of TCs, I found that bores vary at times from gun to gun. I couldn't start a .495 down the barrel of my .50 kit gun with a hammer, a .490 is tight but doable.
